Term 2 sees the return of Chess Club for 2010. This club is run by Teachers and parents. Children in Years 1 – 6 are eligible to join Chess Club which is held every Wednesday afternoon from 3.30pm – 4.30pm commencing on 28th April (Term 2 Week 2).
The club meets each Wednesday after school during Term 2 & 3 in 1M & 1P classrooms. Children can either be picked up outside Block B each Wednesday at 4.30pm or go to OOSH.
The Children who are experienced players will be grouped so they can improve their game skills each week. Any beginners will also be grouped and taught the fundamentals by professional tutors in the first few weeks to get them started.
During term 3, the Intermediate/experienced group will have their turn to receive professional tuition and will compete in a tournament. The Beginner group will improve their new skills through games.
A fee of $15.00 per term is collected to assist in the professional tuition fees, the purchase of equipment and the purchase of trophies at the end of Term 3.
