Band Fundraiser 2010 - BBQ and Cake Stall Harmony and Grandparents Day Friday, 19th March 2010   Dear Parents,   Traditionally there is a Sausage Sizzle and a Cake Stall on the Harmony and Grandparents Day offering lunch to students, parents and guests visiting our school on that day.   This year’s fundraiser was assigned again, as last year, to the Band to raise funds to help run the music program at the school.  Money raised through these events finance the purchase of new instruments and funds the music workshops for students throughout the year.   To make the day a success we need help and assistance from parents of students who participate in the school music program.   We ask parents to send a cake, cupcakes or slices, with the child, on the day.   We also need volunteers to cook and serve on the day.  If you are able to help, could you please contact Eva Adamkiewicz: eva@bonato.id.au   and let us know your preferable time slot.   Thank you,   Band Committee

In addition to performing at school functions, the bands are committed to perform at several outside events.  Details will be updated here, via Chatters and email.  Please watch for these and mark the dates in your diary.  Please note that sometimes performance dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   Band Performances 2010 Workshops (for both bands): Sunday, 14 March, 1:15 - 5:00  and 22 May Chatswood High Term music night:  30 March  (Senior Band only) Ryde East Music Festival:  30 May Yamaha Music Festival:  TBA during 12-24 June NSW Band Festival:  TBA during July-Aug North Shore Primary Festival: TBA in September Gala Night:  TBA in November/DecemberThe Band program at Lane Cove West is expanding rapidly and looks to recruit new members from years 3 to 6 each year. A parent-run Band Committee ensures the band program is run efficiently and effectively in liaison with the professional Senior Band Director, Gavin Staines. The bands have a variety of performance venues during the year, including weekly performances at school assemblies, Fireworks Night, Carols in the School, concerts and Eisteddfods.
